About the Artist - Stephanie Maks

Artist's Statement

Stephanie Maks, of Brampton Ontario Canada, has been painting since 2001. Although she has not had formal instruction, she has been learning through experimentation and the assistance of friends in the artist community. She is a member of Beaux-Arts Brampton, and the Brampton Arts Council.

Working mainly in Acrylics, her creations are primarily Abstract, Surreal, or Impressionistic. Always eager to experiment with new methods, materials and tools, Stephanie's work contiues to evolve. She finds inspiration in many places, from philosophy and faith, to nature, her friends, her cats. In addition to painting, Stephanie also occasionally works with other mediums, such as woodwork, glass, or metal.

Among the artists who have influenced Stephanie, or whose work she admires, are: Dali, Giger, Goya, Monet, Van Gogh.
